Principal – Summerhill Nursery School
At Summerhill Nursery School, we are always looking for meaningful ways to encourage curiosity, communication, and critical thinking in our children. This
term, we have introduced a simple yet powerful thinking routine called
I See, I Think, I Wonder
developed by the renowned Project Zero at the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
This routine encourages children to become active thinkers by exploring the world around them through three simple questions:
What do I see?
Children carefully observe and describe what they notice.
What do I think?
They share their ideas, make connections, and explain their thinking.
What do I wonder?
They ask questions and express their curiosity about what they would like to learn more about.
Through this approach, children develop important lifelong skills such as observation, communication, reasoning, problem solving, and confidence in expressing their ideas. Most importantly, it helps nurture a love of learning by encouraging children to be curious and engaged learners.
You may hear your child using these questions at home when looking at pictures, reading stories, exploring nature, or discussing everyday experiences. We encourage you to join in by asking them what they see, think, and wonder about the world around them.
We are excited to see our young learners becoming thoughtful observers, confident communicators, and curious explorers as they make their thinking visible each day.
Take part with us when you drop of and collect your little one.
