Summerhill School values our families, and so during the week of the 13th to the 15th of June, we took the time to celebrate the patriarchs of our families with thoughtful spoils.
The Junior students celebrated Father’s Day by honouring their dads for the support, strength, love and care that fathers display towards their families with colourful creative cards and 3D printed “Foot” keyrings with the phrase “Following in Dad’s footsteps”.
The Grade Fours acknowledged their dads as the superheroes they are, with cards celebrating their powers and heroic qualities. They believe our Summerhill dads rock as they’re smarter than teachers, braver than Nelson Mandela and stronger than a herd of elephants!
The Grade Five students read Father’s Day quotes. They then picked their favourites and made beautiful and colourful cards for our Superhero dads. They also spoke about the importance of family and those they love.
The Grade Six students designed and decorated unique medals for dad to show how special their superstar dads are to them.
The Grade Seven students spent the week colouring mindfulness Father’s Day cards. Once completed they wrote a heartfelt message to their father to give to them on Father’s Day.
We hope that all Summerhill dads had an amazing Father’s Day, and felt the admiration and appreciation from our Summerhill students.
