2022 FOCUS MONTH (MAY) GRADE 2 – RECYCLING

During Recycling month Summerhill students (Grade 1-7) focused on the importance of recycling. They completed different activities:

  • Grade 1,2 and 3 – collected material that can be recycled and drew a picture of the new product. Grade 2 and 3’s also wrote a paragraph about the process.

  • Grade 4 and 5 – designed a product that can be formed into a new recycled product, using recycling material.

  • Grade 6 and 7 – created a poem with pictures regarding recycling. A poster was made with the pictures and the poem was written next to the pictures.

The Summerhill students enjoyed the month of recycling. They grasped the importance of recycling and it was a delight to see the initiative our students used to create and complete their activities. The more we recycle the less garbage ends up in our landfills and incineration plants. By reusing aluminum, paper, glass, plastics and other materials, we can save production and energy costs and reduce the negative impacts that the extraction and processing of virgin materials have on the environment.

Recycle the present, save the future. Recycle today for a better tomorrow. Recycle your trash or trash your Earth. Recycle your waste, save energy, conserve resources and preserve the nature of the world.
