On Tuesday, the 12th of April 2022, our Grade Ones had the opportunity to decorate cupcakes with the Grade Twelve and AS2 College students for the annual Cupcake Day. The little ones highly anticipated meeting the ‘Big kids’.They were ecstatic to go across to the College campus where they were warmly welcomed by teachers and students. They were paired to spend the morning with a college student. A Grade One student exclaimed, “They are so big!”  The other little ones frequently asked the college students, “How long did it take you to get to Matric?” and “Is Grade 12 incredibly hard?” as they decorated the cupcakes and splattered icing sugar on each other. It was a heartwarming moment to see some of the little ones wearing oversized matric jackets. They also had an “eggciting” Easter Hunt together. The Grade Ones’ energy seemed contagious, as the Grade Twelves joined in on the excitement. The Grade Ones evoked fond childhood memories for the seniors and they recalled nostalgic moments they had spent at the Prep School. The bonding adventure continued as they played fun games such as Ringa-Ringa-Rosie and TAG for the rest of the morning. It was a truly memorable occasion.
