On Friday morning, 14 January 2022, the Grade Seven students received their school ties. 
This was our first assembly in almost two years where we were fortunate to have all the Grade 4 to 7 students attend the event. All were heartily welcomed into the new year. In their giftbag, Grade 7’s received their new tie, a delicious Krispy Kreme doughnut and a set of instructions on how to knot their own tie. 
Thereafter, the new councillors were announced and Mrs Pötscher and Mrs Rajeev handed out certificates for the IEB benchmark exams that were written the year before. Our students performed exceptionally well in these national exams and it was a proud moment indeed for Summerhill. 
It was wonderful to share this joyous occasion with the rest of the Senior Phase and we cannot wait to see what our new Grade 7 students will accomplish this year!
