What is special about the Model United Nations programme is that it offers learners an opportunity to research and debate various international topics together, and learn how the United Nations and other international and regional bodies function.

Summerhill College at the Model United Nations On Saturday 14 September 2019, Summerhill College competed in the annual Model United Nations conference hosted by the South African Institute of International Affairs. The conference takes place after months of preparation and is geared towards teaching participants a range of valued life skills. Summerhill College students participated in two committees with Godlove Lebogo, Lungo Ndlovu and Priyusha Tollimalli representing Ghana in the African Union summit; and Kulani Mhlongo, Chumisa Mqgibi and Jessica Capazario representing Ireland in the UNESCO summit. The team from the UNESCO summit were even awarded the Silver Prize for Best delegation. Well done to them and to all participating students. Great to see the success of Summerhill College at the Model United Nations.
