Summerhill International College competed in the South African Institute International Affairs Model United Nations Conference
On Saturday 15 September 2018, Summerhill International College competed in the South African Institute of International Affairs Model United Nations conference at the WITS Science Stadium. The event was attending by schools from all over South Africa and was presided over by members of UNICEF and other prestigious bodies.
Summerhill entered two teams into the conference. The delegation representing Afghanistan (in the committee of UN Women) was comprised of Claudia Nair, Jamilla Da Costa Dah and Karishma Munilall and the delegation (in the committee of the United Nations Office of Disarmament Affairs) consisted of Kgotlello (TK) Kutama, Rishita Bharani and Divhyuka Ramsamy.
This was the first time that Summerhill participated in the Model United Nations conference and the delegation for Afghanistan was awarded a prize for best Position Paper in their committee. All the six of the participants did a fantastic job and we couldn’t be more proud.
